Justin Willette

Justin is a native Texan who was born in Brownsville and raised in Dallas-Fort Worth — and he got to Austin as fast as he could! An avid adventurer who has worked in the outdoor industry since 2016 for both local and national outfitters, Justin has explored mountains, canyons, rivers and dirt roads all around the world, but still enjoys coming home to the spring-fed rivers and sotol-dotted hills of Central Texas. The outdoors has had the most positive impact on Justin’s life, and he enjoys introducing the power of nature to others. His goal is to provide Explore Austin’s youth with all the tools they need to get outside, so they can challenge themselves and grow while having a meaningful experience in nature.

Justin is an avid sci-fi reader and says no matter how heavy his pack is, he always brings a good book with him on the trail. While he’s hard pressed to name his favorite backpacking trip, the Appalachian Trail is a clear frontrunner.
