Volunteer Opportunities: Warehouse Inventory

Our Summer Wilderness Trips conclude at the end of July, and school-year programming begins in September. Volunteer with us in August to help us get our Warehouse back in tip-top shape before the fall semester launches. Available shifts include:

  • August 7 & 9: Warehouse Restoration – Unloading vehicles and organizing gear
  • August 14 & 16: Full Inventory – Counting gear to identify gaps, and identifying gear that needs repair or replacement

“Friends of Explore Austin” Fall Fling

Friends of Explore Austin (EA) is a new group composed of young, working professionals who care about EA’s mission.

Activities include networking and social opportunities, one-off volunteer opportunities with EA, exclusive mission updates from EA’s leadership, fundraising and championing EA in a variey of ways throughout the year, recruiting Mentors and other volunteers, and more.

Pickleball Tournament Benefiting Explore Austin

Hosted by Sam McCathren | Landy Frost Group at Twelve Rivers Realty  

Work up a sweat at Pickle Hub ATX while supporting Explore Austin! Food trucks and beverages, DJ, competitive corn hole, a raffle and — of course — pickleball, with 100% of proceeds supporting local youth in the Explore Austin program. Free to attend, and kid friendly!

All gifts to Explore Austin through the end of 2023 will be generously matched by the Cooper Matthews Foundation.

  • Give the amount of your choosing online here.
  • Make a pledge, which can be paid in any of the ways below (or by check), by 12/31/23. Contact Lauren Zurbrugg for any questions.
  • Give from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) – our legal name is “Austin Explore Inc” and our EIN is 20-5496495.
  • Wire transfer – avoid paying credit card fees.
  • Make a gift of stock and securities, which can yield excellent tax benefits.
  • Donate an IRA distribution to lower your taxable income – a QCS permits those 70 ½ and older to donate directly from an IRA instead of taking an RMD.
  • Check on your workplace matching – many companies have special matches running through the end of the year.
