Where do you work?
After 5 years in positions at University of Colorado and University of Texas, I am now with Seton Healthcare Family in their Analytics and Health Economics Department as a Systems Programmer Analyst and Clinical Outcomes Consultant.
Favorite Outdoor Activity:
Disc golf with my dog, Lola, or boating on the lake.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not playing sports or on the water, you can find me on my back porch, listening to music.
What was an important outdoor adventure you experienced as a middle or high schooler?
My first camping trip was sometime in high school. Looking back, I now realize how influential it was on my life. Being outdoors, whether on the water, taking a hike, or just lying on a beach, is one of the key ways I recharge and relax. Sitting by a campfire under a sky full of stars is still my perfect way to gain perspective.
What made you decide to be a mentor?
I grew up at a summer camp in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, which focused on underserved youth. Across 12 summers, I went from camper to counselor to administrator (Lake Director) and camp really played a pivotal role in my life. As a camper, I made lifelong friends and learned from counselors who became role models. As a counselor and administrator, I had the opportunity to become a mentor myself and learn how to
become an effective leader. It’s been over a decade since my last summer at camp and I’m really excited to start a new adventure with Explore Austin.
