How has a mentorship experience affected you and how will you translate it to your role as a mentor? I wouldn't be where I am today without the time and commitment that my mentors and coaches invested in me. A mentor sees beyond what you can see in yourself, and helps you to realize your full potential. A mentor believes in you even when you don't believe in yourself. I hope that by serving as a mentor, I can help the 2017 girls realize their full potential and see that they are capable of anything-- absolutely anything!

What made you decide to be a mentor? I truly feel that I was meant to become a mentor at Explore Austin! The universe kept sending me subtle signs that this program was a good fit for me... and finally, I decided to apply. I was actually on a business trip when I finally decided to fill out my application. On my flight back to Austin later that day, I struck up a conversation with the person sitting next to me, and lo and behold-- he turned out to be an Explore Austin mentor! It was fate. We spent the rest of the flight talking about the program and I instantly knew it was what I wanted to do.
