A good way to keep the conversation going is to use the sentence “Tell me more about…” and always be prepared to give your own answer or an anecdote.
- What does Diversity mean? Is it important?
- Is it important to respect other people’s views even if they are not your own? Why?
- How do you react if someone doesn’t agree with what you believe?
- Are there and people it’s hard for you to accept and respect?
(If they say they accept everyone, ask if they accept and respect homeless people or those in jail)
- What is Racism?What is Sexism?
- Have you ever been affected by racism or sexism? What happened and how did it affect you?
- What does ACES have to do with Cultural Competence?
- How does this activity fit in with ACES and Cultural Competence?
