A local Austinite, Jason attended Westwood High School, class of 1999. At 21 he joined the Marine Corps and served five years on active duty in San Diego, CA. Jason was raised on outdoor fun. He is an avid adventurer, enjoying trail running, rock climbing, mountaineering, and the occasional 100-mile canoe race (just to keep it interesting). Today, Jason studies Geography and Political Science full time at the University of Texas and is a part time rock-climbing instructor. Jason believes that positive role models and the challenges of nature can offer young men a profound respect for life and help prepare them to tackle life’s many obstacles.
