Kevin Richardson

Kevin Richardson is an accomplished global senior management professional with over 20 years of sales, marketing, and business operations experience in the medical device industry. He has worked to create successful teams that develop and define strategies which lead to increased shareholder value. He has experience in acquisitions, product portfolio management and development, sales and marketing, and international business development.
In his position as Vice President and General Manager at Sirtex Medical US, Kevin brings his years of senior leadership in the medical device industry to the oncology market. Under Kevin’s guidance, Sirtex-US has pivoted from a sleepy start-up medical device company to a recognized leader in the Interventional Oncology space, growing sales to over $100M in 5 years.
Kevin is originally from Arlington, Texas, and moved to Austin in 2006 to join St. Jude Medical after stints on both coast with Boston Scientific.  Outside of work Kevin spends his time with his wife of 25 years, Kemper, and their two teenage children. They enjoy anything outdoors, especially water sports, snow skiing, and riding dirt bikes in the mountains of Colorado.  Kevin has a real interest in growing boys into men and led a group of his peers through the Journey to Manhood curriculum. For over three years he brought a group of his son’s friends and their dads together to learn from each other the importance of mentorship and vulnerability.  Kevin realized the importance of this in his own life and the life of his son and wants to share this with others through Explore Austin. Kevin strongly believes in para-church ministries because he feels they are out in the trenches with those that are hurting and may never set foot in a traditional church. Kevin supports many ministries like Young Life, Focus on the Family, World Vision, Campus Crusade for Christ and Jesus Film Project.  On a more local level he supports ROHI foundation which assists an orphanage in Reynosa Mexico.  Kevin and his family have spent time there building homes for locals as well as building a home to place a local pastor.
Kevin has supported Explore Austin for many years and is excited to be a part of the leadership team.
