8th Grade Itinerary
Day One 7/24/2010 :
Arrive at Denver International Airport, travel to OWA Base Camp, group activities, dinner and camp fire.
Day Two 7/25/2010:
In the morning and afternoon, Mountain Biking ground school, skills training and competitions. In the evening, pack for the multi-day mountain biking trip.
Day Three 7/26/2010:
Depart from OWA Base Camp, ride to Spruce Grove and afternoon swim to cool off in the river at the campground.
Day Four 7/27/2010:
Ride from Spruce Grove to Feral Petunia campground. Practice Map and Compass Skills.
Day Five 7/28/2010:
Morning mountain bike ride from Feral Petunia to Valley of the Chickens campground. Afternoon rock climbing at Valley of the Chickens.
Day Six 7/29/2010:
Mountain Bike ride from Valley of the Chickens over Wilkerson Pass to Turner Gulch. Camp at Turner Gulch.
Day Seven 7/30/2010:
Mountain Bike ride from Turner Gulch to OWA Base Camp.
Day Eight 7/31/2010:
Regroup at OWA Base Camp, clean bikes, return gear, pack for airport, visit farm and group project.
Day Nine 8/01/2010:
Depart from Denver International Airport and return to Austin.
